Daily Kos: Fun at the Creation Museum!!!! (my field trip to CrazyLand)
This is a great citizen photo-journal about the new Creation Museum from a first time diarist at the Daily Kos. He also scooped the fact that the actor who plays Adam is a, cough, cough, "adult entertainer" with a LINK. Enjoy the ride, the diary and photos are continued at the link below:

(Longtime lurker, First time Diary!)

This Saturday, I made my much anticipated field trip to the Answers in Genesis Creation Museum, a $27 million monstrosity devoted to religious fanaticism, disguised as "science".

Two of my heretical friends and I ventured an hour north up I-75 from Lexington, just short of Cincinnati, to discover a museum full of shocking idiocy and unintentional humor.

Early in the museum, the visitor is given advice on the proper mind frame to have for your visit: "Don’t think, just listen and believe". As you can see in the picture below, Human Reason is the enemy and God’s Word is the hero. Descartes represents Human Reason, saying "I think, therefore I am". But God tells us there no need to waste your beautiful mind, for God says "I am that I am".

Read the diary. Enjoy the photos here: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/6/9/105322/6744

2. It is worth checking out the link. This guy went to the Evolution Musuem so we don't have to!
There's some great stuff here. I found the exhibit about where Cain got his wife to be particularly interesting. Did you know genetic diseases that may fall on children whose parents are too closely related come from the accumulation of the ancestors "mistakes" since the fall of Adam?

3. "Don't think"
Typical religious brainwashing. Fundies hate thinking- it hurts their poor little brains too much.

5. I shudder when I think of the kids that are brought there.
Don't their parents care that they are destroying any hope their kids have of attending a good college or of having a career in any biology related field.

10. I don't think all republicans
are sexual perverts. But isn't it odd the ones that protest the most about family values, the republican creed, and all that jazz usually turn out to be perverts. Look at the preacher that screamed about homosexuals, turned out he was one. And look at the top runners for the republican nomination most of them have had multiple wives, and "courted" the next one while being married to the previous one. In other words just about all are serial adulterers.

15. This would be hilarious...
... if nobody actually believed this shit.

I find it particularly interesting that they contrast "Reason" with "God's Word".
Think that's it exactly, but they don't seem to be in on the joke...

Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this diary.
And the "Old Testament Jew Jamboree Band" line - priceless.

16. Sooner or later all that inbreeding had to have

a deleterious effect.

Wow they spent $27 million on this exercise in retardation.

It boggles the mind...

18. Incredible.
The "don't think, just believe" mindset is just... just... mind boggling!

And these are the people who want to either dictate what ALL children learn in our public schools or abolish the public school system entirely.

Disgusting.
