Albania's street names celebrate 'BOOOOOSHY!'
Albania's street names celebrate 'BOOOOOSHY!'
By D. PARVAZ
P-I COLUMNIST

Imagine this: President Bush appears before a crowd of thousands. They cheer for him, covering him with waves of adulation and admiration.

He is greeted like a hero, or an "American Idol" winner on a homecoming tour of local malls. A crowd screams "BOOOOOSHY!" as women try to kiss him and men struggle to shake his hand or maybe just touch his head. Curiously, no one wants to punch him.

So, where is this scene taking place? In Bush's dreams?

No. In Albania.

Where they put his face on portrait stamps. Three of 'em.

(snip)

People of Albania -- I think I speak for most Americans (the 70 percent or so who don't approve of Bush's leadership) when I ask: What the hell were you thinking? Seriously. Do you think this guy has done anything for the cause of democracy and freedom?

Because he had, like, nothing to do with pulling you out of the genocidal mire found yourself in during the '90s. Sure, he says what you want to hear about you joining NATO, etc., but don't get fooled. He's got that "Aw, gosh," cowboy thing down pat, but ultimately, he'll just do whatever Dick Cheney tells him to do.

Oh, you still like him? All right. In the interest of free trade, diplomacy and flourishing international relations -- or whatever -- you can have him.

You take Bush, and in exchange, you can give us, oh, never mind. We'll just call it good.

1. spot the photo op
Sheer Speculation: Why would a person be concerned about having a 50 dollar watch ripped off his arm if he was not cognizant that they were desparate and had been paid a really paltry amount to fawn over him?

Sorry, just smells like Rovian stagecraft.

And the war profiting pundits swoon. . ."They LOVE him."

Right.

2. Funny huh? Considering that if Bush and his fellow Repukes had had their
way, they'd all still be staring at Serbian troops on their streets.

"Most of the cars in Albania are stolen; no one knows how many there are and where they come from."

http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,3604,1179119,00.html

ALBANIAN GOVERNMENT USES STOLEN CARS. Officials of a special police unit currently investigating car theft told "Koha Jone" of 25 January that "dozens" of luxury cars used by high-ranking Albanian government officials were stolen in Italy or Germany.

5. Clinton did the work and took the abuse.
Bush did not do squat and he gets the credit. How's that for life not being fair.

7. They are also naming a street "Timex Boulevard" in honor of
Bush's watch - which is now a national treasure.
