Pissed off? Damn straight!
Edited on Sat Jun-23-07 05:39 PM by Mythsaje
Oh, Bush and Cheney piss me off, but there's nothing new about that. I could go for hours on how aggravating these assholes are. Cheney not part of the Executive Branch? Bush deciding he's not required to give over pertinent information to the accounting office? Just one more day in Korporate Klown Land.

My dad, a long-time independend Democrat, is furious. He gets 95% of his news from the Corporate Media and HE sees the writing on the wall. The oil companies are under-financing their refineries to choke more profit from the American people, and even HE sees it.

And the Dems in Congress? Some of them are standing strong--thank you, John Conyers and Co. But others? I WARNED them after the election. This wasn't a mandate, it was a CHANCE. "Show us what you got."

So far all we're seeing is rubbery spines and a lot of misdirection. Oh, I know that offends some of you, but who cares?

What we need is a no nonsense, straight talking, hard-working son-of-a-gun to step up to the plate and start calling it like it is. Don't worry about the Corporate Media. The blogs are starting to call the shots now and the CM knows it. The PEOPLE know the CM sucks. And they're starting to figure out why. It's about damn time...we've been yelling about it long enough now.

We SHOULD be pissed off. And we should damn sure not be quiet about it. We should continue making as much noise as possible.

And to HELL with anyone it offends. Most particularly the Right Wing liars and dupes who strain credulity every time they open their mouths or touch fingers to keyboard.

I hate it that we take it out on one another, torching the other candidates to make our own look better. I don't HAVE a favorite candidate, so I'm not really referring to me now. But if I did, I'd hope I'd be above such a thing. I've long held that those who need to raise themselves up by trodding on others are eminently weak, and unworthy of our respect.

Respect requires respect in turn. Those in this administration who've shown us, and the Democratic representatives, no respect, deserve none. And we should always keep that in mind.

We should be pissed off. So it's a good thing that we are, isn't it?

1. Just as an aside...
Feigned outrage is a play straight out of Rush Limbaugh's leather-bound gilt-edged pocket secretary. As copyrighted by Jerry Falwell. It is a testament to the usefulness of such a technique that it has even been adopted on the left. Or perhaps the flames around here are more due to the anonymity of the web and the boost that gives to the audacity so often needed for some comments.

In any case, "pissed off" is not what it once was. I'd be glad to see a ration of the good old-fashioned heartfelt kind. Thanks.
