NBC News: 'Has the vice president gone too far?' David Edwards and Muriel Kane
Published: Monday June 25, 2007

NBC News reported on Monday that "Dick Cheney is back in a very uncomfortable place for him: the headlines." Both a Washington Post series on the vice president and Cheney's feud with the National Archives over his handling of classified information are drawing attention to his style of governing.

NBC called Cheney as "a master of stealth, even inside the White House," describing how he put through his policy of holding detainees indefinitely without charges by handing his proposal to the president without the normal staff review. NBC also noted that "Cheney's influence turns out to be surprisingly wide-ranging," encompassing everything from cutting the capital gains tax to ending the ban on snowmobiles in national parks.

"Has the vice-president gone too far?" asked NBC, adding that "the National Archives thinks so," because Cheney alone in the executive branch has refused to file required reports or permit inspections of his office's handling of classified material.

1. It took them six years to ask that question ??
way back when, cheney declared executive privilege (from the executive branch??) saying he did not have to identify those in his energy task force. NOW, he says he's not in the executive branch and guidelines surrounding it does not apply. No doubt the expert talking heads on faux will straighten this all out for the dumbasses in this country who are getting heavier and heavier. Oh NBC you guys are on the ball.

4. I have often wondered when a network advertises
for employees, do they insist on their being idiots. Every major network and cable networks know the country has been hijacked and yet they act as if they are on the ball. I wish we had a DU network. We would be Number One.

5. Because Brian Williams is the GOP GO-TO GUY, with a "nearly indetectable" ideological bias
According to NBC once-upon-a-time pollster (who they didn't tell their audience was bought and paid for by the RNC) Frank Luntz.

NBC is owned by General Electric. General Electric is one of the TOP TEN Pentagon contractors. Pull the string.

The money GE makes from NBC is peanuts compared to what they pull out of the Pentagon. NBC, CNBC, and MSNBC are simply TOOLS to keep you sheep in line. They throw you an Olberman bone every so often, and you're thrilled...and in the meantime, Brian Williams keeps shovelling this shit at you, and you buy it...if you phrase the facts as a big, fat MAYBE, it buys those bastards in BushCo TIME...time to wipe hard drives, throw servers into the ocean, shred documents, threaten anyone who's thinking of talking...what-have-you.

The only reason they're admitting the bare bones of the truth now is because everyone can smell it from here. It's like they're finally reporting on a huge stink in the town square after the entire population has seen, with their own eyes, three hundred elephants take a steaming stinking shit there.

"Is that pile of shit in the town square actually ELEPHANT DUNG? Film at Eleven!!!!"

"WHO pooped in the town square? Elephants, or perhaps LIONS disguised as elephants? Inquiring minds want to KNOW!!!"

7. "a master of stealth"
Edited on Mon Jun-25-07 02:01 PM by Uncle Joe
Master of stealth sounds like you've reached a major goal in a video game, or Jedi status.

I can't help but to wonder, what would G.E. owned NBC call him had this been a Democratic administration?

Edit for P.S. If Cheney were such a master of stealth, he wouldn't have betrayed one of our nations very own stealthy C.I.A. agents. That's not mastery, and it's not stealth, it's either corrupt incompetence at best or treason at worst.

11. Or maybe....
GE has realized that this is a monster even it can not control. The whole Blackwater thing may just be too scary for them!
