Live Earth concert a climate SOS - Gore

FORMER US vice president Al Gore has urged people worldwide to pressure their governments to cut global warming pollution by 90 per cent in developed countries and by more than half worldwide by 2050.

Mr Gore said today the July 7 Live Earth concerts - to be held in Sydney, Johannesburg, London, New Jersey, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai and Tokyo - would ask people around the globe to sign the climate change pledge.

"The Live Earth concerts represent an unprecedented opportunity to ask for the world's attention long enough to deliver an SOS and then to begin delivering information about the solutions to every single person," he said.
