Democratic Senators Unanimously Vote War With Iran
This from the article "DOWN IN THE FLOOD: The Senates Blank Check For War With Iran"

"As you may know -- unless you rely on the corporate media for your news, of course -- yesterday the U.S. Senate unanimously declared that Iran was committing acts of war against the United States: a 97-0 vote to give George W. Bush a clear and unmistakable casus belli for attacking Iran whenever Dick Cheney tells him to.

The bipartisan Senate resolution – the brainchild (or rather the bilechild) of Fightin' Joe Lieberman – affirmed as official fact all of the specious, unproven, ever-changing allegations of direct Iranian involvement in attacks on the American forces now occupying Iraq. The Senators appear to have relied heavily on the recent New York Times story by Michael Gordon that stovepiped unchallenged Pentagon spin directly onto the paper's front page. As Firedoglake points out, John McCain cited the heavily criticized story on the Senate floor as he cast his vote.

It goes without saying that all of this is a nightmarish replay of the run-up to the war of aggression against Iraq: The NYT funneling false flag stories from Bush insiders. Warmongers citing the NYT stories as "proof" justifying any and all action to "defend the Homeland." Credulous and craven Democratic politicians swallowing the Bush line hook and sinker."

Article continues at www.chris-floyd.com

Remember: Bush just sent the 3rd aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf 3 days ago. I'm begging Pelosi to please put impeachment back on the table to tie Bush's hands before the mass murder in Iran begins. Bush has bragged that he
will make it impossible for the next president to leave Iraq and this is how he plans to do it...by attacking Iran. WILL SOMEBODY IN CONGRESS PLEASE COME TO THEIR SENSES BEFORE ALL WAR BREAKS OUT IN THE MIDDLE EAST...PLEASE!

1. Son of a bitch.
"Pattern Recognition Skills" needs to be an issue in the next election, because our politicians seem to be seriously deficient in that regard.

4. I heard on our local news...
in an Op Ed segment that the war in Iraq is actually a proxy war with Iran.

6. Iran is starting to move on Iraq
The rock meets the hard place.

This is a derivative action on Congress' part. I can't say I go along with it, but that's what I see. And both Iran and the USA have arrogant, megalomaniacal religious nuts in charge of their executive branches. The Iranian assembly is none too fond of Ahmadinejad, Congress is not too happy with Bush, but both are puzzlingly meek.

If we blunder our way into a war in Iran, we will be in a world of hurt. Stability in Pakistan is eroding, and they have atomic bombs.
