AFL-CIO’s Pride At Work Calls For Legal Same Sex Marriage in N.J. - 07/17/07

Pride At Work, the AFL-CIO’s gay, lesbian, transgendered and bisexual constituency group, is calling on UPS to reverse its decision to deny health benefits coverage to same sex couples under New Jersey’s civil unions law. UPS denied the benefits to two members of the Teamsters and their families. Pride At Work says the state legislature in New jersey needs to give same-sex couples full marriage rights and scrap the civil unions system.

3. You know, its frustrating that progress happens so slowly, but its also reassuring that progress...

is happening at all. I feel that this will end up being a "domino" affect for the states. If more states recognize Gay Marriage, then the pressure will only increase in those states that don't yet. We need to keep up the pressure.
