Impeach Now Or Face the End of Constitutional Democracy
Unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the US could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran.

Bush has put in place all the necessary measures for dictatorship in the form of "executive orders" that are triggered whenever Bush declares a national emergency. Recent statements by Homeland Security Chief Michael Chertoff, former Republican senator Rick Santorum and others suggest that Americans might expect a series of staged, or false flag, "terrorist" events in the near future.

Many attentive people believe that the reason the Bush administration will not bow to expert advice and public opinion and begin withdrawing US troops from Iraq is that the administration intends to rescue its unpopular position with false flag operations that can be used to expand the war to Iran.

2. Mourning in America
I'm grieved to report that America as a representative
democracy has died a death and that from now on
what were formerly free citizens can now be declared
the children and subjects of the corporofascist
monarchy.

4. I hate to be the bearer
of bad news, but there are no grounds for impeachment.

The "illegal" surveillance operations were legal under the Presidential powers under Article II of the Constitution.

But don't take my word for it, look at what an expert had to say about it.

http://judiciary.house.gov/media/pdfs/nsaeastmanltr.pdf

This was presented to the House Judiciary Committee (January 27, 2006) by John C. Eastman
Professor of Law and Director of the Claremont Institute Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence.

It clearly outlines the SCOTUS decisions that were used to determine the legality of the surveillance.

Before you start quoting all those "experts" that contradict this, find one that is basing his/her opinion on war time SCOTUS decisions, and not just their interpretation. Interpretations are not grounds to impeach a sitting President.

Quit living in the dark, and realize that the Dem's in the House and Senate both have thought this thing out beyond thorough, and if they even thought they had a snowballs chance in hell of grounds for impeachment they would have brought them forward.

Oh I forgot the other one.

Impeach for lying about the MWD's.
OK, but then we have to "impeach" EVERY Democrat that voted for the war. They we presented with the same intelligence that dick head had.

I'm sorry to have to take this position, but facts are facts and everyone should be held to the same standards.

Most people screaming this simply want to impeach because they don't like Bush (hey, I don't like the bastard either) but you must understand that it takes more than dislike to warrant this action, and it's fallout.

It's a no win argument, and a pipe dream to seek impeachment, and only creates negative public perception of the party which is vitally important if we what to capture the swing voters in 08.

Whooping and hollering about 911 conspiracies and impeachment creates a public image that causes most swing voters to isolate themselves from us out of embarrassment.

These things make us look ignorant and incapable of running anything but our mouths.

So have at it and censor, banish or bitch. I am a proud Democrat and that's how it is.

6. The reasoning is right on spot!
I am not against impeachment, only because it is a necessary, Constitutional remedy to what has been, and is being seen as, a rogue Administration.

However, there is something even more essential and important than government that stands behind many social and political problems we are having: the status and rights that corporations now enjoy.

If anyone takes the time to look at the transformation of the idea of the corporation from a fictitious entity that shields individuals from indemnity and provides other, practical organizational effects, to what is now the equivalent of person hood. Keep in mind that that person hood includes the same Constitutional rights that we once had as a People.

If we fail to notice that which lurks behind the curtain of mass media, then we have a far greater problem than a titular enactment of Fascist agendas. I hesitate to use the word anarchy, (a much misunderstood and maligned word) but the absorption of plutocratic conglomerates is increasing at exponential rates to the point where their power and influence makes them more like nation/states to the point where they are an ominous threat to our ideas of individuality and freedom, over all.

And yet, this major and most threatening issue sits largely unattended in the face of events that are largely acted out on a stage that is owned, scripted, and presented by the corporate insurgency in progress.

In a World where Capitalism prevails, (and how do you have a free market when a handful of major players gobble everything up and determine the course?) and Socialism is a dirty word, (see George Orwell's thoughts on Socialism) it is reasonable to expect that, when enough money, power, and influence is amassed in greater concentrations by any group, they clearly have the kind of political and manipulative power that is equal to a military coup and weapons of mass destruction.

In this case, the weapons are subtle, gradual, and insidious. If left unchecked, they will most certainly spell Fascism in all its horrid and face booting reality. That is, once they take off the masks, pull away the props and lights and cameras, and reveal the monster backstage. At that point, there will be no need to waste time or effort on maintaining the carefully erected facade we are allowed to see.
