Condi's Werewolves
Booga Booga!

http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/op-ed/goldsborough/20040112-9999_mz1e12golds.html

Many of the deceptions used to justify the war in Iraq are well documented – Iraq's ties to al-Qaeda, weapons of mass destruction, imminent threat, etc. One, however, has not been documented, not until now.

Last August, Condoleezza Rice, the national security adviser, gave her "werewolf" speech. At the time, the Iraq occupation was losing public support because of continued attacks on U.S. troops three months after President Bush declared the war over. Rice sought to calm fears.

Not to worry, she said. The violence in Iraq was "normal" postwar chaos that soon would pass. Just as Hitler's "werewolves" had attacked U.S. occupying forces in Germany in 1945, she said, Iraqi diehards were attacking U.S. forces today. As in Germany, it would come to nothing.

Rice gave her speech the first week of August, when 58 U.S. troops had been killed since Bush declared the war over in May. Today that figure is 356, for a total U.S. Iraq death figure of at least 495.

1. history channel today
i mean all day - ran a program on the indoctrination of the youth in Germany with interviews of people who were raised as "Hitler youths". frighting program. there was a mention of the "werewolf's" and showed an execution by firing squad. i think the werewolf was 17 or 18.i think most of the werewolf's were young kids and not older adults as the Iraqi fighters are. condi is really lost her bearings....

2. there weren' t many to start with
The "Werewolves" were a SS division; the name was used for other Nazi-post-capitulation-fighters as well. Those were rumored to include many children, but did practically nothing (one abduction prior to the capitulation). I might be mistaken, but AFAIK there was not a single fatal incident; pure propaganda with no real background.

3. Ms Rice
Ms Rice is either incompetant or a liar. Or she may also be an incompetant liar.

She has zero credibility.

4. Is it me, or is she getting less publicity lately
I haven't read a "Dr. Rice said <insert idiotic generalization>" article for weeks.

The "Werewolves" were pure propaganda by someone else: Goebbels.

Bravo! Exposes more of the administration's outright lies. Condi Rice using unsubstantiated "internet reports" to mold national security policy. Outrageous!
