What is with the NAACP wanting everyone to be kind to Mr. Vick? |
|
Vick should not only go to prison but also be banned from playing football forever and in addition have to clean up dog poop from animal shelters all over the country and also he should be ordered to finance anti-dogfighting campaigns for the Humane Society of the United States. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/22/AR2007082201272.html

1. I plan on being kind to Mr. Vick until he's either found not |
|
guilty by a jury or he enters a guilty plea.
I think the Duke rape case taught us all that...not to say I was necessarily one to judge people before their day in court.
As for Vick, if it does turn out he did the unspeakable things he's accused of, then all bets are off.
No kindness from me.

4. I'm not sure why the NAACP feels they are the proper entity to make such |
|
a statement when the charges against Vick and his guilty plea have absolutely nothing to do with the color of his skin. And, I seriously doubt that if the NFL decides to ban him for life, it will be because he is black.
Or did Pete Rose get banned from baseball because he's white and I just missed it?

9. They apparently feel that pushing back is supportive of the cause of African Americans. |
|
I don't expect NAACP or the Humane Society or NOW or NCLR to promote anything but the interests of their members.
