PRESIDENT BUSH LOSES BATTLE OF WITS
PRESIDENT BUSH LOSES BATTLE OF WITS
By Bill Gallagher

DETROIT -- "We're kicking ass." That's what President George W. Bush said to Australian Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile when he inquired about Bush's brief stopover and photo-op in Iraq on his way to Sydney for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.

Flippant machismo is nothing new for the "bring 'em on" boy, our cowpoke "commander guy" who once said he would get Osama bin Laden "dead or alive." A new video of bin Laden -- in which the al-Qaeda leader spoke about resisting American forces in Iraq and converting the world to Islam -- provided Bush with another opportunity to justify his military madness.

Bush, who conflates nearly everything he does with the Sept 11 attacks, declared that the new video endorses his failed strategy in Iraq, telling reporters, "I find it interesting that Iraq was mentioned, which is a reminder that Iraq is a part of the war on extremism."

Had bin Laden mentioned "raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens," Bush still would claim the reference as approbation for his imperialistic invasion and occupation of Iraq. It's simple: Whatever bin Laden says justifies whatever Bush does.

While bin Laden smokes his hookah in his hideout in Pakistan, the mass murderer praises Allah for the never-ending gift of Bush, his most reliable recruitment tool and the flypaper for his proselytizing. The endless violence in Iraq gives bin Laden solace and an invaluable symbol to rally more Islamic extremists to commit terrorist acts in the west.

2. what's beyond contemptable
is that our president uses the words of Osama bin Laden to support his cause. Bin Laden's words should hold no sway over anybody or anything, much less Americans.

When I saw this title, I tried to imagine the rest of it; loses a battle of wits with what? A cockroach, a five year old, his reflection in a mirror; such endless possibilities...

7. I wonder why the republicans can see what the rest of real America sees
Because 9/11 bush got the boost he wanted. From an even less then mediocre start to a presidency, he started his war war war. He invaded a neutral country that was not a threat to us. To keep the 9/11 attack in the minds of the people they herded like sheep into a panic state, they dropped the 9/11, 9/11, 9/11 every single chance they got. Rudi tells the country HE was the hero, not the firemen and police officers and responders. Not the ones who cleared the sacred ruins of the towers. HE was the hero because he walked around with a bull horn. He doesn't tell the world he was the cause of a lot of the confusion. That his firemen and police had begged him not to put the control center in the towers, they tell he world they did not have adequate response equipment, the communication devices wouldn't work. And on and on and on....but HE was the hero.

And bush is just as bad. He tells they world he is responding to terrorist. He is protecting this country. He is, he is, he is. But look Homeland Security can't even stop illegal immigrants from crossing our borders. Bush was going to let people who supported our enemies control our ports. He allowed our security jobs to bleed overseas. Now he even is letting Mexican trucks, which we see are not even safe enough for their own country, travel our very roads and highways. How many terrorist, how much bomb material will be on those trucks. As long as he and his family and the corporations he sucks up to are making money, he could care less about the real America.

This man and his enablers, mainly rove and cheney, are the biggest terrorist and transits this country has ever seen. And the 30% who still kiss his ass are just as bad.
