Total News Bias by Rob Kall
Have you noticed that when the Dems try to pass legislation ending the war, the news reports that "The Democratic congress failed again?"

Why don't they say, "Again, the republican minority in congress has blocked democratic efforts to stop the war?"

Why don't they say, "More American troops will die this week because Republicans again blocked democratic efforts to represent the majority of Americans by ending the war and bringing the troops home?"

Why?

The reporting on Democratic failure, instead of on Republican obstructionism is almost total.

Contact the anchors who are perpetrating this virtual attack on the democrats and support of the the Republicans.

1. Have you noticed how these dems never complain about the way
Edited on Thu Sep-27-07 05:39 AM by EV_Ares
the news is portrayed. Why don't they get some organizational skills behind them and go on the offensive instead of just sitting on the defensive. You never saw the republicans sitting with their hands under their asses. They always talked about offense over defense.

It is time that they set this media straight. You are right. The dems were always obstructionists. Will the same for the republicans right now but it is not portrayed that way. The reason, the dems seem to enjoy being the doormat for some reason.

2. Good point. Why don't Reid and Pelosi refer to the "Corporate Media?"
Just one example out of many. Why don't they use our terms, instead of constantly using the opposition's?

3. Thanks, you & I are on the same page on this. My way of thinking
is they need to start attacking these media dick heads when they do these things. Hell, the republicans have Fox to do their attacking for them.

At the gym this morning, was listening to my ipod but one of the tv's was tuned to Fox. They were doing a story of the left wing money and going after Soros or however you spell it. The dems may not have a fox which is their own fault as well but they could still start getting more aggressive instead of just sitting on their asses and saying nothing. Look at the attack on MoveOn and the dems joined in.

OK, my bitch & rant is over but a lot of this fault lies with the weak & spineless dems themselves.

4. My gym has TWO TV's tuned to Fox (out of 6)
at least no sound... as far as your last sentence, "but a lot of this fault..." sadly true not just about this, but you can pretty much pick almost any issue and say the same. And its not Dem-bashing (well, maybe it is, a little) but just trying to encourage, somehow, our party's leadership to rediscover the location of their spines , along with relearning how to use them.

7. Correct, I try not to dem bash, I certainly get angry at them a lot because
they do seem afraid of their own shadow. However, I know in the end, it will probably be a dem I will vote for. They are still safely this side of the dangerous right wing. I hold out hope that if they were to gain safe margins in the house and senate, they then might do the work of the people as good dems do or are supposed to do.

Yes, as you say our mission here is to keep the dems on track, encourage them to find their way and do some good work and take on the media and those that twist everything out of reality.

Thanks.

6. Because the corporate media owns them. It won't let them speak about it.

5. Words matter and after decades of research in to
mass psychology, the corporate media know it. They know exactly which bell to ring in order make any given dog lather at the mouth, Pavlov would be proud. I believe too many in the congress have been intimidated by this power to make and break their careers, but they live in a false security and I believe we as a nation will pay a heavy price for their timidity. When they get in front of a camera and a "journalist" or millionaire pundit frames a question in an Orwellian way, call them on it!
