David Aaronovich's "Voice of sanity" on Dean's Scream

Here's the Guardian's self-appointed "voice of sanity," David Aaronovich, bringing his own individual spin to the Democratic Primaries to today's London Observer.

His drift is, basically, that idealism is all well and good for those extremists who don't have his (or his heroes, Bush and Blair's) wisdom and experience, but that the good, honest folks who do will ignore idealistic promises and go for a good, steady guy.

Still, a guy who stayed firm to the idea that Blair really was right about the WMDS has earned the right to be listened to. hasn't he?

The guy is a Blairite stooge, and his writings on the primary seem to be more about making up straw man arguments about Dean supporters being teenage idealists than looking at the matters properly.

Come to think of it, all Aaronvitch ever does is build straw man arguments. Maybe that's why I find his columms so utterly crap. Aaronvitch is without doubt the most over-rated writer in the UK press. I'd much rather read sombody like Boris Johnson quite frankly.
