WhatsNext -- Must Read
Edited on Fri Jan-30-04 01:55 AM by Emillereid
What's next? That's a good question, as we have no reason to believe that they will stop at the massacres of 9/11 and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.

If 9/11 was Bush's Reichstag Fire (1936/2001), then we are in the period that Churchill called "The Gathering Storm". Jennifer van Bergen has concluded that the The Bush Plan for America has us 3/4 of the way down the road to Fascism. We agree, as all of the elements of a Police State have long been put into place, and 9/11 is proof that the American people will quietly submit to the most egregious acts of barbarism and deception without even asking What Really Happened.

Based on our now quite substantial experience analyzing 9/11, as well as previous acts of American State Terrorism, we feel can start to discern the path that the rest of Road to Tyranny with take:
Ashcroft's Patriot Act 2 has been waiting in the wings, and now is being passed by stealth. George Bush's favourite lapdog is introducing similar legislation before the British Parliament that gives police the right to detain anyone in the 'vicinity' of a suspected bioterrorist attack, and to extend existing powers to detain foreign terror suspects without trial to all British subjects. The Draconian move could result in Britons who fall under suspicion spending years in jail without charges. The new powers will be introduced as amendments to the already controversial Civil Contingencies Bill (CCB). The Canadian version, 37/2 C-17 was passed by the House of Commons 7 October 2003. ....

Sums up where we are under Bushit, where we've been and the where we're probably headed. Scary. Suggests that the October surprise might come in the form of a staged biological attack. Lots of great links.
As I write this I am listening to an old radio interview of Michael Ruppert -- boy is he good. Extremely cogent.

1. Which of the apparatus now in place will be dismantled
If a Democrat is allowed to win?

Will Dean dismantle the Patriot Act? Will he toss Homeland Security?

Will Kerry?

Will Clark?

Will Edwards?

Will .......?

I am very afraid that we may put a good man into a job skewed to corrupt anyone it touches. The White House controls too damn much.

2. The last President that actually wanted and intended to make radical

changes to the status quo was assassinated in a very public way in front of hundreds of people. Your statement, I'm afraid, is correct. The position has become one that corrupts anyone who enters it. NO ONE, save Kucinich, is saying the things that REALLY need to be said because they know they wont be given a shot. See what the media has done to Kucinich? Granted, his presentation left a lot to be desired as does Sharptons but the things they were/are saying ring too true to be put up with by the powers that be.

Here is something you rarely hear:

What was the REAL reason for invading Iraq? WMD? Oppressive, dictatorial, savage regime? "Rape Rooms"? Liberating an oppressed people and giving them freedom? No. All these things have existed in dozens if not hundreds of other places for centuries. Even in recent times, there have been and continue to be countries where most, if not all of these things exist and we do nothing about them. No, the idea that the U.S. had a grand, humanitarian motivation for invading a sovereign nation is quite simply, hogwash and that is a fact because of all the OTHER situations that we have patently ignored for decades. Was it just that Saddam was a bad man and needed an ass whooping? No.

Fuck no. Bad men are a dime a dozen.

Now, we all probably know, in our heart of hearts that it is the oil. But why this oil? And why now?

Here's why. China. China has been and continues to be experiencing phenomenal growth of a middle class with disposable income and that middle class has the potential to amount to better than 500 MILLION PEOPLE. Buick has been building cars in China for years, and in fact, it is one of the most popular models there. The other car makers are scrambling to get in on the action. 500 million car driving, appliance buying consumers use a SHITLOAD of energy and oil.

Who should control it? Saddam? nope. The Saudis? The American oil companies made the mistake after WW II of allowing the inherantly corrupt family of Saud to control, albeit at their pleasure, that particularly oil rich peninsula. So, what's left? The North Sea? Alaska? nope. Iraq. Ripe for the picking. The "War on terra" is nothing but a sideshow. You are no more in danger of being hurt by an Islamic terrorist than YOU were on Sept. 10th, 2001. The odds of being hurt or killed in a terrorist attack in this country are minute and the powers that be KNOW IT.

Yesterday (1/27/04) it was reported that the DOD figures we will be in Iraq for another 6 years. BULLSHIT. We vanquished Japan and Germany 57 years ago and the United States still has a HUGE presence in both countries. The United States invaded Iraq to control the 2nd largest known oil reserves in the world for the express purpose of making sure no one else got to them first.

Thats it. Why isn't anyone saying this publicly? Because they will be marginalized and ridiculed and told to shut up and sit down.

Just like i am going to do now.

I wrote this a month before I had a stroke and two heartattacks
right after I got off a flight that went, ironically through Houston.

5. Thanks for posting your article
I do hope you are feeling better. I ended up in the emergency with extremely high blood pressure. Told the hospital staff if Bush came on the TV that I knew they would see a big jump in my readings.

Can't find the article, but back in 2002 there was an alarming rate of increased blood pressure problems in the US.

Take care of yourself.

4. nice rant
I think you're spot on with the China middle class concept. I think China has been becoming more and more a major competitor on the international markets.

The War on Terror, is nothing more than a ploy to crush the Constitution and turn the US into a corporate theocracy police state, IMO.

6. Thanks for the compliment....
But i differ with you on the reason for the War on Terror. It is nothing more than a newer version of the Red Scare. We were told we had to be afraid of an atom bomb in the 50's and 60's. Populations are easier to control if they are afraid of something. Even better if the fear is fabricated, unprovable and can be used to spend extraordinary sums of tax dollars.
