2. Since it's hardly "Progressive", why?
Something about roses, any other name, still roses, comes to mind.

4. No
after a Democrat is in the White House, true progressives can join together to make a party that is not beholden to corporations. They might want to use the name.

5. I'm a Democrat. I believe in democracy.
Since it's under threat, I think that's a damned fine thing to call my party: The Democratic Party.

6. If the Progressives want to start their own party, they're welcome to.
Otherwise, we're still the Democratic Party.

12. Well, no. Progressives are one segment of the party, but they don't
have the exclusive right to lay claim to the name...

7. rename them anything so the real democrats
can get the name back. The F***ing DLC/DNC are nothing but republicans. It's time to take back our party name and tell those bastards to start their own damn party.

it would bring back memories of what happened during "The PRogressive era"

remember, the progressives were the ones who outlawed alcohol, and made pointy chastity belts for young girls to wear

15. you are very confused
just because someone doesn't agree with your right wing world view does not make them a traitor (though that is a typical fascist ploy, to label ideological opponents "traitors").

16. the dem party is hardly progressive.
but the name might be apt for the new party that will emerge after the dems party march right-ward into irrelevance and america wakes up and decides it wants to move forward into the 21st century instead backwards into the 1930's.

17. There is a "Progressive" Party
The Green Party. Democrats need to define their party in clear terms.
