Kerry wins Washington; union dumps Dean
By DAVID ESPO
Feb. 7, 2004 | Sen. John Kerry won the Washington caucuses with ease on Saturday, lengthening his lead in the Democratic presidential race while launching a sharp attack against President Bush. The Massachusetts senator also reached for victory in Michigan caucuses, hoping for a two-state sweep.
Howard Dean, shut out in the primary season to date, suffered a fresh blow when the head of a major union decided to withdraw his support. Democratic officials said Gerald McEntee, head of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees, delivered the news to the former front-runner during a meeting in Burlington, Vt.

You can NEVER count on Washingtonians to do anything intelligent. A man who steals or loses over a billion dollars belongs behind bars. Seattleites elected him Mayor. They re-elected Gary Locke, probably the most corrupt governor in state history. I can't name ONE public official in King County (Seattle) or state office - Republican or Democrat - who isn't corrupt.
Lieberman probably would have won this caucus if he was still in the race. Washington's unions are as screwed up as the general public. They don't do a thing for workers.
This was SO predictable.

4. This is SO typical of AFSCME |
|
Now if you ask AFSCME, they were solely responsible for Kerry getting as far as he has. Assuming Kerry gets the nomination, he couldn't have done it without AFSCME.
