Analysis of Obama and Clinton's Senate Record(!) |
|
http://www.theyoungturks.com/story/2008/2/22/20842/6292/Diary/Analysis-of-Obama-and-Clinton-s-Senate-Record"This is a very good analysis of the real Senate record of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. This was done by a blogger on Daily Kos called Grassroots Mom and she went to the Library of Congress website to thoroughly analyze the actions of both candidates in the US Senate..."

why Obama is letting Hillary get away with the argument that she is so much better prepared through her distinguished career of Senate experience. After all, she has only 7 years experience as an elected official. Obama has 8 years in the Illinois state Senate plus 3 years in the US Senate. He has 50% more time as an elected official than Hillary. Why isn't this basic point brought out?
Her bills read like the DLC playbook. Offend nobody. Take no bold positions on anything. Always float to the center. Triangulate.
Nothing but window dressing. I am very encouraged to see the substance and tone of the bills that Obama put forward. Granted, it was a given that these bills would not make it past a criminally insane Bush administration. But sometimes you have to take a strong stand on principles.
Putting it another way, with President Clinton or President Obama, we will be in a position to ENACT most of these bills. Which set of bills would you rather pass when we get that historic opening? The ones that pussyfoot around the issues or the ones that get right down to it?
I am an Edwards supporter who has had doubts about Obama. I find this analysis very encouraging. Very encouraging.
I know he doesn't need my advice on how to conduct his campaign, but I find the facts really astonishing in light of how one-sided Mrs. Clinton seems to say the issue is.

6. Does it matter at this point? |
|
I'm not trying to sound mean when I say that, just being honest.
Then again this matters *to me* because I'm tired of hearing about how Obama has done nothing and has no experience compared to Clinton. So in that sense, it does matter, but I think the election is over at this point.

4. Oh, I see what you mean... |

I just wanted to credit the source that *I* used to find that link in the first place. I thought I had done both but I guess not.
Thanks for pointing that out.
