Of course, it ain't fun. It's death. That's what he has in mind for us, and Maureen nails it.

2. They found a drug combo
that he likes. Probably includes alcohol too.
He has really gone insane - people are scared and he is at a total loss to know what to do.

5. That is the best explanation yet.
Reminds me of when Nixon was going nuts in the whitehouse and we all were crapping that he had the nuclear button in his hand.

4. Did she say anything we didn't know seven years ago?
And she probably got paid for writing it too.

Not that I disagree with her but I didn't think the article really said much of anything.

7. My opinion?
He has already moved on. In his mind he is already in whatever retirement space he has chosen for himself. It no longer matters to him what happens to the nation...he has already moved on.

8. It NEVER Mattered to Bush What Happened to the Nation
As long as he got his jollies and his buddies got to loot.

9. Good old MoDo is a little late to the party herself.

Bush, who used his family connections to avoid Vietnam, told troops serving in Afghanistan on Thursday that he is “a little envious” of their adventure there, saying it was “in some ways romantic.” from the link

She wasn't writing anything like that about Bush when it might have mattered; instead she was nattering about Al Gore wearing earth toned sweaters. I see her as being as being part of the larger problem and really don't particularly give a crap about what she has to say at this juncture.

She's one of the cool kids, whose superficial, cynical put-downs of most of the good guys, or at least the demonstrably "better" guys like Gore and Kerry, got us to this hideous point in our history in the first place.

10. Passing it on
I think it makes perfect sense that he is bubbly and carefree these days. He knows that soon he will be able to pass all of the problems he has created and has no idea how to fix on to someone else. I would guess that he would be even more thrilled if the clean-up crew is from the opposing party because some of the remedies are going to be very painful and make many people unhappy. He just continues to prove he is a pathetic, self-involved little man.
