Pat Buchanan's latest racist screed
http://buchanan.org/blog/?p=969

here's an excerpt

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

That's right folks, being sent here on those slave ships was the best thing that ever happen for nig...er...neeg... er...black folks.

White Man's Burden and all that.

1. He is a bona fide pig imo. I was just thinking about sending a few more
e-mails to m$m. He is truly disgusting and wears his agenda in his mouth.

4. what a pig.
and the conversation never gets down to what it's really about. just blowing smoke up the collective ass.

when we will ever be allowed to just be folks?! why, in the 21st century, is this shit still being propagated? there can be only one reason as i see it, and that is white racism. the white establishment is afraid of losing its position of privilege and so they fight it with bullshit like this, and keep up the fiction that there is some basic difference to people based on the color of their skin. it's fiction. people are people and there are good and bad of every stripe and we should just acknowledge it and move on.

but with people like pat Buchanan and the idiots on faux and so on, it will never happen. too many people cannot even arrive at the understanding that it should.

gawd i'm tired.

5. I love it when they break out the argument that former slaves are better off than their ancestors.
Buchanan has lost perspective.

Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 09:53 AM by RiverStone
Geez, he reminds me of the hate filled rants I heard on the winds as a kid in rural GA - back in the 60's. That was 40 years ago and yet, this prick is allowed to spew this shit from a seat representing the M$M???

At least he does not hide his ignorance from the rest of us - just himself.

8. for the last few days, day and night
Pat's been "concern trolling" about Obama's "Reverend Wright problem". On every show from Morning Joe through Abrams' "Verdict" show (except Olbermann).

10. I first heard that argument in college, 45 years ago
or thereabouts, from an apologist for slavery with whom I was arguing. No doubt it goes back much further than that.

I think that kid even used the phrase "they should get down on their knees and thank God" for having been brought here.

16. I think it is GREAT!!!
The dialogue Obama invites into the open the criticisms of bigots like this and ends up laying them bare for all to see. The racists are so infuriated by Obama's refusal to dance to their Politically Correct tune that they are nearly incoherent with rage and increasingly rabid in their reasoning.

17. There is going to be a series of McCaca moments that will be so abhorrent as to turn all but the
most virulently racist of the GOPs base against them.

This is one of the reasons the GOP fears Obama

The other is his charisma, his energizing of new young democratic voters (an Obama generation) and the bottom up grassroots support evidenced by the small donor donations.
