Poll: Obama Regains Big Lead In North Carolina
Huffington Post | March 25, 2008 02:05 PM

A new poll by Public Policy Polling (pdf) has Obama regaining a sizable lead the dissipated during the worst of the Wright controversy coverage. Obama leads in the poll by 21 points over his rival, 55-34.

Obama leads 80-14% among black voters.

Clinton leads 47-40% among white voters, which is a noticeable tightening; she led 56-30% only a week before.

2. That's surprising
is all that rationalizing hurting her credability, or was it the imagined sniper fire?
OUCH!

16. Wouldn't he want to wait to endorse (either candidate) until closer to PA & NC primaries?
PA is April 22nd
NC is May 6th

Just a thought. And I really don't know if he'll endorse anyone, let alone Obama.

6. Media coverage of his war speech in Fayetteville
is mentioned as a factor, in that his biggest boost was in the media market that had the most coverage (Raleigh/Durham)

if by smashed you mean gaining 10, 12 delegates at the most, then yeah, BO will be smashed.

Glad to see the lead back. Remember HRC supporters, NC is almost as big as PA ;)

15. Obama can win
a race card state, sure. Good thing he and his surrogates smartly turned fairytale into "Birth of a Nation"/Widescreen Edition. That was deft, masterly, dare I say....transcendent. Sitting in those church pews listening to GOD DAMN AMERICA for 20 years like a crass politician pays off like a lit up slot machine in DELEGATES!

Will the GOD DAMN AMERICA bumpers stickers he rolls out this fall pay dividends in the General Election? Ay, there's the rub. (The answer is no they won't = rub).

12. Thank Goddess for Pat Buchanan
who was a shining example of many white's racist attitudes towards blacks. Pat did Obama and Rev. Wright a BIG favor -- showing why Rev. Wright's anger was justified.

17. Interesting and good point. Buchanan *did* rear the pasty, fat, ugly head of racism in his piece.
I hadn't thought about how it might have some blowback of its own.
