PRATTVILLE - Alabama's senior U.S. senator predicted Friday that the Senate will approve a bill backed by Roy Moore to restrict federal courts from reviewing cases involving the acknowledgment of God.

Sen. Richard Shelby said the bill, which he and Sen. Zell Miller of Georgia introduced Thursday in the Senate and Rep. Robert Aderholt, R-Haleyville, introduced in the House, will have nationwide support.

He made the statement with Moore at a lodge iin Prattville lodge, where Moore had been attending a two-day conference.

What a shock. Zell Miller, voting with the GOP? Whould've thought? :eyes:

2. Totally unconstitutional

The legislature can't pass laws limiting the powers of the judiciary to interpret the Constitution. I doubt the Supreme Court would let such a law stand even if they were 100% conservative.

3. when was Alan Keyes a UN ambassador????
Former U.N. Ambassador Alan Keyes, who spoke briefly, said the bills are not intended to take anything away from the federal courts.

"What they are doing is restoring and respecting a restriction that is crystal clear in the Constitution of the United States," Keyes said. "The courts have assaulted both the state governments and the people, and our representatives are standing up to say to the courts, `Stop this assault; end this abuse.'"

4. Oh Zell, Oh Zell, Oh, Zell --
-- You traitorous weasel.

Let's see. Oh yeah -- Shelby used to be a Democrat, too. Two traitors shilling for the Far Right. Disgusting.

Judge Roy Moore should be dumped into the North Sea and devoured by eels. There's nothing in the Ten Commandments that says you can't dump morons into the North Sea to the mercy of ravenous eels.

The polls are beginning to speak louder and louder: The GOP may suffer a major setback in November. They may lose the White House, they may lose a couple Senate seats, they may lose some serious ground in the House.

That means their howling jackal supporters on the Far Right fundamentalist fringe will be hoppin' mad.

Let's elect Democrats all over the place and get the fundies so mad their little hearts explode.
