Bush in denial on WMDs -- and busily denying it
from the Arizona Republic columnist O. Richard Pimentel:

"Let's talk about character. Specifically, about whether President Bush has a character issue every bit as severe - though stemming from different sources - as, say, Bill Clinton.

-- snip --

Their argument is simply that Bush, in this matter of WMDs that apparently don't exist, acted on the best information available; that previous administrations, other governments, some current presidential candidates and Congress believed the same thing. They add that Bush, though obviously in error now, acted from the purest of motives, protecting us from evil. And that Saddam was so evil that deposing him is a good thing even in the absence of WMDs.

-- snip --

he lists 6 "exhibits" that show Jr's lack of credibillity and concludes with:

"At the very least, Bush has a severe credibility problem. I don't need to be hit on the head but maybe you'll never be convinced that Bush purposely deceived us. Maybe he was simply invested with so much obstinate moral absolutism that he wasn't about to let trivial things like facts and doubts get in the way."
