Controversial Filmmaker's Early Script Depicts President Bush's Hard-Partying Youth and Feuds With His Father

By MARCUS BARAM

It's a classic American story: In the prime of his life, a man who parties too much and lives in the shadow of his esteemed father turns his life around. He gives up alcohol, embraces religion and finds a new purpose in life.

Actor James Brolin, who earned raves for his recent turn in the Coen brothers' Oscar-winning film "No Country for Old Men," is set to play President George W. Bush in Oliver Stone's upcoming film "W".

More PhotosBut will his desire to impress his dad and purge his personal demons put the world in danger?

Coming soon to a movie theater near you: controversial director Oliver Stone's "W," the life story of President George W. Bush, a warts-and-all portrayal.

Though the movie is scheduled for release in 2009, there is a chance that it might be pushed up to come out before the November election, say insiders.

2. I have no idea who's going to see this thing
Most of us are sick of this administration to the point of projectile vomiting and will avoid it like the plague. The pig ignorant 28% or so will avoid it because it's done by Oliver Stone.

This one is going to be box office poison until the little bastard has been out of office for half a decade or more.

3. Are you ready to meet your new/old First Family?
In the role of George Herbert Walker Bush, 41st President of the United States...James Cromwell!

As his devoted wife, Barbara, it's Ellen Burstyn!

Playing the elder Bushes' daughter-in-law, Laura, say hello to none other than Elizabeth Banks!

5. James Cromwell hates * and Poppy as much as anyone on earth
That part should be good. It was Josh Brolin, who should be classified as one of the luckiest bastards ever for getting to wake up next to Diane Lane every day, who was in No Country... I think he once said that his dad is a Repub, though I can't see Streisand marrying a Bush voter. Brolin The Elder did an excellent turn in West Wing as a stupid, right-wing pretty boy who runs against Bartlet at the end of Jed's first term. I think it was an unsubtle jab at *.
