Bill O'Reilly? Actual Ethics?!? Hahahahaha!!!
DANIEL RUTH

Once again, Bill O'Reilly of ``The Spittle Factor'' has proven he is to journalism what Sasquatch is to the Westminster Kennel Club.
The Torquemada of the Fox Star Chamber - cue ``Deutschland uber Alles'' - was in full froth the other night, lashing out against Harry Rapkin because the Sarasota circuit judge had committed two cardinal sins, in the addled opinion of the poor man's Walter Winchell.

First, Rapkin had the audacity to do his job and actually follow the law. Gasp!

Second, the judge had repeatedly declined invitations to appear on ``The Hubris Factor,'' O'Reilly's nightly forum that makes the McCarthy hearings look like the Algonquin Roundtable.

<<<Cut>>>
The facts, however, are very simple to understand - except for folks who are dumber than a sack of O'Reillys.

<<<cut>>>
It is, of course, a journalistic ethical breach to broadcast the location of a judge's home - especially a judge who is in the middle of having his reputation unjustly vilified by the poor man's Hedda Hopper.

``O'Reilly's a piece of scum,'' Rapkin observed.

Eureka! At last! An actual truth has been uttered on ``The Din Factor.''

1. Actually, the judge.......
......did NOT do his job and did NOT follow the law. Now, I'm by no means an O'Reilly fan, and I didn't see the show in question, but I have read several articles that point out how Judge Rapkin showed lenience toward Smith more than once. In my opinion, the judge wasn't following the law, but rather used his judgement to give this guy another chance. If he had followed the law to a T, Smith would have been back in jail for parole violations. C'mon, let's be honest here, the girl is dead because Judge Rapkin used poor judgement in showing lenience toward a criminal. It's a rotten shame, but it happened.

2. Wrong, a girl is dead because Smith allegedly killed her.
The Judge did follow the law. Do you honestly believe that everyone behind on fines is thrown back in jail? Do you believe that a person cannot have a false positive drug test due to legal meds?

3. No, but I believe in......
....protecting children from predators by NOT giving criminals the benefit of the doubt. Why should a society have to worry about the safety of it's children when laws are in place that put parole violators back in jail. Should it have been up to this judge to decide whether or not a parole violation is serious?? NO, a violation is a violation, and a criminal with a history as bad as that of Smith should NOT have been given the benefit of the doubt.
