Weather underground? Didn't Hillary defend Black Panthers in 1969?
If we are going to play this guilt by association game on Obama then it would be fair to point out that when Hillary was attending Yale law school in 1969, she defended members of the Black Panther Party! Yeah, that's right! The group that J Edgar Hoover called the most dangerous to America. I wonder who she was friends with? Maybe Jane Fonda? Angelea Davis? How about a photo of Hillary toking a bong with Abbie Hoffman! Does anybody have a 8mm film of Hillary protesting outside the Democratic convention in 1972? She was there! A good friend of mine claims he got a ride from her while he was hich hiking to the Miami protests. Guess where she was going? I better stop now, because I am begining to sound like a freeper!

2. "U.S. warns of wave of bombings in Baghdad"
This is not a distraction. There really is another Really Bad War in progress. Our government is once again killing foreigners by the tens of thousands to advance failed policy. What will you do? Engage in idiotic distractions designed to make this election about anything other than the here and now?

9. Not so sure
This is what Bernstein told interviewer Jon Wiener last summer:

"That summer she went to work at the most important radical law firm in America at that point: Treuhaft, Walker and Bernstein in Oakland. They defended the Panthers. Two of their partners were members of the Communist Party--including Bob Treuhaft, who was married to Jessica Mitford. I talked to Bob Treuhaft not long before he died, and he said he was certain that Hillary came there because she subscribed to some of the kind of law they practiced and the kind of clients they defended. In her so-called autobiography, "Living History," she put in a couple of sentences about living in Berkeley with Bill that summer and working at that law firm, but she makes it sound like their work focused on postal rate increases. There's not a word about radicals."

4. geez
It should be a plus on her side if she did any of the things you list. Of course, the vapid generation's idea of demonstrating today is to stick their face in a camera lens and talk shit about the candidate they don't like, and then upload it to youtube.

And post neener neener posts to blogs that only make *them* look foolish. :sarcasm:

6. We should not Trash Hillary's Name.
I could care less if Hillary had defended Black Panthers. They are/were Americans too. From some of the Stories about the Black Panthers, it can be said that for a time, the Black Panthers had improved the lives of Hundreds of other Peoples lives. And there were not that many Black Panthers, don't kill me if I am way off, but I think the number of Active Member Black Panthers in Watts was about 28 People. So for 28 People to have a positive impact on 300-400-and more people every week shows to me something very admirable. Thbbb.

7. This was not a criticism of the Panthers

My point is...that Hillary is playing along with this right wing smear tactic of: guilt by association. So Obama knew Bill Ayres? So what? McCain was buddies with G.Gordon Liddy. The way to offset right wing smear tactics is by punching right back harder! By the way, I supported Bobby Seal mayoral race in Oakland. Circa 1973

8. Some People Missed Your Point
If Barack Obama went out west to work for a law firm that had known Communists as partners and defended the Black Panthers he would have had to give another race speech to quell the 2 week media barrage. It would be worse the the Ayes nonsense and probably approach the Rev. Wright debacle. In fact it would probably end his campaign.
