2. Siegelman is alleging a conspiracy.

History shows that to prove a conspiracy, you usually have to start examining the conduct of the individuals in the outer periphery of the conspiracy. They have the most to lose. They may have committed a crime with a relatively small penalty (or potential for damage to reputation) or sentence, but if convicted as members of a conspiracy for the crime with the larger penalty (or potential for damage to reputation) or sentence, they have the most to lose for the least gain.

The key here is to find out what happened in Baldwin County, Alabama with regard to that vote recount.

I would say it's a long shot. Hopefully Obama's DOJ will apply long prison sentences to all of these people.
