The super delegate tango...Or...

the domino effect and how the democratic party self-destructed.

We are all on the want for the super delegates to make a choice. Pick one or the other so we can move forward and tear john mclame a new one.

However, I see two things happening with the super delegates:

1) the domino effect

There will come a point when some of the delegates will make a choice. It will come at a time when they must still believe that their vote matters in the grand scheme of things. Meaning, vote before the convention. When and if that happens, you will see the great domino effect of the votes coming it.

There is a break even point at which, whom ever of the super delegates votes after, their vote will be basically meaningless.

And the one thing you can bank on with super delegates is: they have massive egos. No one wants to be last or irrelevant.

You have remember something about this: this is the first time since 1980 that the threat of a brokered convention is very real and as a result the super delegates, who used to be former king makers and decide who gets the nom in the smoky back-rooms of washington, have been pretty much out of the game since then. I honestly believe that they are, to use a phrase, milking it for all it's worth.

So now we the people are witness to a big time behind the scenes game of chicken. Who will vote first? Who will stick their neck out? No one wants to support a loser, but then again, no one wants their vote to be an afterthought either.

Ego.

2) The Democratic Party self-destruction.

So now suppose the super delegates can't make up their minds. Their egos have won out at the cost of the countries voters. Okay fine.

We go to the convention were the votes will be cast.

Remember, all this time, mclame has had ample time to build up his bi-pola message into one that has a concept of reality. All while the Dems bloody each other over flag pins.

So now the vote comes down to the wire. The supers must vote. Now suppose, on the first vote. there is no clear winner? At that point in time, the media will have a feeding frenzy. I can see the headlines now, "Dems in Chaos!" At least on the NY Post anyway.

But stepping back for a moment, even if someone is chosen, we are looking at something that could clearly destroy the party.

Why?

Historically, the last 3 brokered conventions resulted in losses for the Dems. 68, 72 and 80. And just what was the result? nixon and reagan.

However, this time around there is such major warfare going on between the Clinton camps and the Obama camps that quite frankly, scares me to the quick.

There have been posters here on DU that state definantly, that if so and so doesn't get the nom, they will be voting for mclame. Honestly, how truly bizarre is that?

Unless these posters are trolls, freeps, former repukes, etc, any democrat worth their salt will in the end vote for the nom, no matter who it is.

But give the kind of verbal frothing that I have witnessed on this site, not only will a brokered convention lose us the White House, but honestly it will destroy the party as we know it.

What to do?

Contact the undecided supers and tell them to basically get off the pot and vote!! We need to battle mclame, we are losing presious time, we need to expose that creep for the lying sack that he is.

here's the link to the undecideds.
