1. the subtle sophist strikes again

amidst the collection of religious idiocies dominating today's headlines, one has to note that labeling the Branch Davidians as "self-immolating" is the kind of subtle sophistry to be expected from a writer who comes down with a sinus infection every time a Clinton has a hemorrhoid. thus, it is no wonder that this particular "connoisseur of human folly" has such a blind spot, but after more than a decade you'd think Gene would learn.

It takes a lot of chutzpah to diss the writer who chronicled the right wing campaign to effect a coup against a sitting popular president. Dr. Lyons, recipient of the National Magazine Award, is a national treasure.

I think I smell some jealousy in the post above.
