Chalabi : Heroes In Error
The ultimate in arrogance!

Chalabi stands by faulty intelligence that toppled Saddam's regime
By Jack Fairweather in Baghdad and Anton La Guardia

Mr Chalabi, by far the most effective anti-Saddam lobbyist in Washington, shrugged off charges that he had deliberately misled US intelligence. "We are heroes in error," he told the Telegraph in Baghdad.

"As far as we're concerned we've been entirely successful. That tyrant Saddam is gone and the Americans are in Baghdad. What was said before is not important. The Bush administration is looking for a scapegoat. We're ready to fall on our swords if he wants."

1. Hey Chalabi made out OK didn't he?
And if he is blamed what exactly would happen to him? Nothing.
This guy *should* be deliriously happy.

Hero? Only in his own mind.

3. "Error" my behind
He's a crook and a tool. As far as "most effective anti-Saddam loyalist," make that most effective pro-Chalabi loyalist.

4. Oh please, the guys gotten over 400 million in contracts so far, that's
all he was after. He hasn't a snowball's chance in hell of running Iraq (although at one time I'm sure he thought he did). But he's going to come out of this rich, rich, rich. Isn't that one of the neo-con requirements of being a hero?
