Bush Visit Nightmare
Source: London Mirror

The London leg of a "farewell tour" by George Bush this month is creating a nightmare for Downing Street.

The US president's trip comes as his popularity at home and abroad is at rock bottom following the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Stop the War Coalition is planning protests which will embarrass both Gordon Brown and the White House.

Number 10 officials are now desperate to "manage the damage" from the trip, say Downing Street sources.

One said: "Let's just say the timing is far from great. Bush is on the way out, and the idea of Gordon standing shoulder to shoulder with him is the last image we want out there right now."

President Bush starts a week-long farewell tour of Europe on June 9 in Slovenia.

14. I think the poodle started this nonsense, as the most unpopular PM in British history,
making a farewell tour, putatively in response to the outpouring of love from his innumerable supporters all over the country. I expect those who noticed him will have learnt enough from you bolshie Yanks to call out to him, "Watch the door doesn't hit you on the way out!"

If I were Mr. Brown, I'd come up with a pre-planned, non-refundable cruise or something.

7. I thought Farty wasn't allowed in Britain, after he shredded the Queen's gardens,
snubbed her, and acted his (un)usual self around her?

8. Too bad Godron could not just keep his distance
he has enough problems. Odd thing is. The Tory Opposition leader might have the greater opportunity to distance himself from Bush. / Bush helping to take Labour down. Bush will likely gloat.

12. Quite so- WE don't want him!!!
And neither does Gordon, I daresay, with the problems he's currently facing in the polls.

Let him try other Europaean countries; but I doubt that many of them will feel very differently.

13. I'd feel much better about the shit-head's "farewell tour"
if he was saying goodbye while on his way to spending the rest of his miserable life in prison.
