From Sunday's Traverse City Record-Eagle:
Michael Moore has a knack for cutting to the chase. He's done it again.
His movie, "Bowling for Columbine," hit home when it depicted America's bizarre obsession with guns. He got it right when he described George Bush's true motives for invading Iraq in "Fahrenheit 9/11." Doctors across the country have hailed "Sicko" for exposing the incestuous links between drug companies, the health insurance industry and the government.
Now, Moore is focusing on the shoddy treatment American veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan have received at the hands of the Bush administration and has come up with a simple way to help: Give 'em a job.
Last week, Moore said the Traverse City Film Festival, which owns the refurbished State Theatre in downtown Traverse City, has adopted a new policy: All theater contractors and vendors who want to keep doing business with the State must pledge that they will attempt to hire veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. . .
