The new Bush book's 15 minutes are already over (Tom Teepen)
Old news in an age of political ennui
The new Bush book's 15 minutes are already over
Frankly, they never even got started

The tattletale book by President Bush's former press secretary, Scott McClellan, looks likely to be a one-day wonder. And no wonder. For all the gee-whiz reactions to them, none of the supposed revelations is in fact a revelation.

The only surprise in the whole business is that McClellan, a doting Bush loyalist for all anyone knew, wrote the book at all.

Were Karl Rove and Scooter Libby, um, less than candid about their roles in outing CIA operative Valerie Plame? Well, of course ...

No, McClellan tells us little we didn't already know. And there's more and sometimes even worse. The nation has let slide this administration's subversion of statutory and constitutional law, its deep-dug secrecy, its abandonment of the high ground in favor of kidnappings, secret detentions, torture and drumhead trials ...

1. Mclellan can and will testify to Bush's crimes - as a witness! It's hugely different.
I support his coming forward.

3. Corporate media only allows books full of proven LIES to stay alive - as long as it's against Dem
nominee. The lies written about Gore in 2000 always had news channels repeating those lies. The swiftliars had hundreds of hours over several months to air their lies no matter how often all actual evidence PROVED REPEATEDLY that they were lying.

When has that ever happened to any other candidate or presidential nominee, ever? The corpmedia chose to side with BushInc and would not budge for anything as mundane as the TRUTH.

The public will no longer believe Bush fits the image crafted and protected for him by the corpmedia. They rejected that image by the time Katrina opened more eyes.

I doubt the corpmedia will be able to risk being all in for McCain after McClellan's book validates what most of the American public started seeing by 2006 - and THAT will be a net positive.

5. Not quite. But McClellan is still a Bush apologist, and we shouldn't let him frame the debate

6. I Rather Think McClellan Is Apologizing for Himself!
Lord knows there's enough sin for all.
