Palin lied about being Miss Congeniality, and Unpatriotic

"Palin Backed Alaska Independence and Called Shallow By Woman Claiming To Be
the Real Miss Congeniality"

It turns out that that Sarah Palin’s backing of Patrick Buchanan for president in 1999 was not the most extreme case of her backing a far right third party. Members of the Alaska Independence Party are stating that Palin used to be a member of the group. Their platform is listed on their web site and is preceded by this quotation:

“The problem with you John Birchers’ is that you are too damn liberal!”
~ Joseph Vogler, Founder Alaskan Independence Party

Now that we find how little effort John McCain put into vetting his running mate, who knows what other surprises might come out. While he probably did want a candidate who would appease the religious right, I wonder if he had any idea how far to the right Palin is, even by modern Republican standards.

After finding that Palin both backed Patrick Buchanan and a group which thought that the Birchers were too liberal, it is no longer much of a shock to find there is even controversy as to whether she really won the Miss Congeniality award. Amy Gwin claims she really won the award.

ALASKA PIPELINE: Amy Gwin, 43, of University City, grew up in Alaska and competed in the Miss Wasilla, Alaska, competition in 1984 against GOP vice presidential choice Sarah Palin. Gwin said Friday that she won the Miss Congeniality award in the competition, although Palin's Wikipedia entry says she won the contest — and the Miss Congeniality award...

Gwin said she was not surprised when Palin became the governor of Alaska, but is astonished that she got the GOP nod for vice president. Asked whether she would support Palin because she knows her, Gwin said: "I wouldn't support her if she was my very best friend. I support Obama and don't share any of her (Palin's) politics. She's very shallow." Gwin is the director of agency relations for the Rodgers Townsend advertising firm.

So McCain's running with un-American, lying Sarah.

The hero-POW and the family values hockey-mom, huh?

Now it makes sense why she said being VP would have to benefit Alaska.
She raced back from Dallas to have her baby in Alaska.
She's married to a native.
By golly, I think she actually means this AIP stuff.
McCain running with a secessionist extremist. Wow.

And then of course there's her wacked out religious connections.
But even some fundies wouldn't go for her dissing America.
Or for McCain choosing a traitor for VP.

But LYING about MISS CONGENIALITY???

That's low.

I think we 'internuts' had better keep vetting this one!
Just when you think it can't get any ickier, it does.

1. Miss Congeniality
What a joke that is in the first place. I used to be in a band with a keyboard player that had run for Miss America and was first runner up. She said she had so much scholarship money that she finally had to quit school, she got so much education. She seemed nothing like your typical beauty queen. I do not know if this is true but she told me that they quit having the "Miss Congeniality" category because they found out that everyone was voting for themselves!
