Palin’s Candidate Questionaire for 2006 Gov. Election Has Been Scrubbed

So someone finds that Sarah Palin answered a question posed by the Eagle Forum concerning the Pledge of Allegiance with a “if it was good enough for our founding fathers, it’s good enough for me. Not a bif story. But Eagle Forum seems embarrassed by it, scrubbing their site just days after finding the article on Daily Kos. Weinies.

1. They scrubbed it because it is a Stupid answer.

There was no Pledge of Allegiance when our Founding Fathers established the United States.

Did Princess Palin think the Pledge of Allegiance was written in the Constitution or something? She is an idiot. All she had to do was Google it to know the Pledge of Allegiance was first used in 1892 and was designed for school children. It didn't become official until 1942.

I guess Princess Palin just didn't know who our founding fathers were.

2. And the "Under God" wasn't added until 1954...

Ike was hardly a 'founding father'.

The scary part is that the clap-trap used as an answer is fundy conventional wisdom. I saw a show presenting
the same misinformation on a local religious network program only a couple of weeks ago. So, even though the
answer isn't correct it rings true in the ears of the kool-aid drinkers.

SP: Yes. Parents should have the ultimate control over what their children are taught.

3. Will you support funding for abstinence-until-marriage education instead of for explicit sex-education programs, school-based clinics, and the distribution of contraceptives in schools?

SP: Yes, the explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support.

4. Will you support efforts to raise or lower the mandatory age of education? Why or why not?

SP: No, again, parents know better than government what is best for their children.

5. Will you support an effort to expand hate-crime laws?

SP: No, as I believe all heinous crime is based on hate.

SP: No, in so many cases, gambling has shown ill effects on families and as Governor I would not propose expansion legislation.

SP: No.

SP: Yes.

SP: Within Alaska law, I support parents deciding what is the best education venue for their child.

SP: Yes, unions represent their workers and as such, should be accountable to them

SP: No, I believe spousal benefits are reserved for married citizens as defined in our constitution.

SP: Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.

SP: 1. Creating an atmosphere where parents feel welcome to choose the venues of education for their children.
2. Preserving the definition of “marriage” as defined in our constitution.
3. Cracking down on the things that harm family life: gangs, drug use, and infringement of our liberties including attacks on our 2nd Amendment rights.

4. Founding Fathers??? The Pledge was written in 1892.

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy (1855-1931), a Baptist minister, a Christian Socialist, and the cousin of Socialist Utopian novelist Edward Bellamy (1850-1898).
