He never seems to ask himself what it means to the ticket to have the star power coming from the V.P. slot, rather than the Presidential pick.

Nor what it might mean to the moderate Republicans who are trying to come to terms with her as someone designed to appeal to the radicals in their party, not them.

He would probably say that McCain would rein her in as the established moderate, but what does his pick say about him as a moderate? Krauthammer uses the terms "reckless" and "crazy brave", not terms a moderate would ever want to associate themselves with. And that's assuming he survives a theoretical term long enough to rein her in.

Despite his desperate hail-mary rationalizations, McCain's pick of Palin ensures only one thing - that Obama/Biden will be the only reliable, business-friendly ticket in November.

As usual for conservative commentators, even when they get the problem figured out somewhat right they get the solution disasterously wrong.
