Republicans Have 3 Times More Nightmares Than Democrats
But past research reveals some surprises. A July 2001 study by researchers at the University of California, Santa Cruz, suggested that Republicans are nearly three times as likely as Democrats to experience nightmares when they dream.

"Half of the dreams of Republicans in my study were classified as nightmares, compared to only about 18 percent of the dreams of Democrats," said lead study author Kelly Bulkeley in a university-issued press release. "My speculation is that people on the right are very attuned to the dangers in the world, and they're seeking ways to defend themselves against those threats."

3. Maybe it has to do with something more interconnected.
Maybe, instead of the "speculation is that people on the right are very attuned to the dangers in the world, and they're seeking ways to defend themselves against those threats", which is what lead study author Kelly Bulkeley speculated, the nightmares are caused by Karma.

Imagine a person is greedy, hateful, and selfish, how would that make everyone else in the world deal with them. Maybe they are receiving the reward for their efforts to create hell on earth for everyone else, while trying to create heaven on earth for themselves and their families.

Maybe, destroying society and nature can cause nightmares. Just another thought. But, if we are all interconnected, maybe the selfish, hateful, lying life has a consequence. Maybe it their consciences are trying to knock on the door of their consciousnesses?

9. I think the nightmares are a symptom of fear in general...
I think Republicans are more likely paranoid and afraid people, they focus on the scary stuff in life... sad. Their gun issues, wars, and phobias in general point to this. A person like that would naturally be chased around by their fears in their sleep. Ironically, they spend their waking hours looking for control over everything, only to be completely out of control in their sleep... at the mercy of everything they fear in this world. Like black Presidents that are smarter than their guys and themselves. My "nightmares" occur during my waking hours and are centered around their actions. My nightmares come true.

6. talking points
I think the people who are having all these nightmares are really buying into all the fear-based talking points that republican radio is selling them.

To a republican this whole world is out to get them, and they need either a theocracy or the biggest guns they can buy to keep the world out of their lives.
