McCain on banking and health

OK, a correspondent directs me to John McCain’s article, Better Health Care at Lower Cost for Every American, in the Sept./Oct. issue of Contingencies, the magazine of the American Academy of Actuaries. You might want to be seated before reading this.

Here’s what McCain has to say about the wonders of market-based health reform:

Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.

So McCain, who now poses as the scourge of Wall Street, was praising financial deregulation like 10 seconds ago — and promising that if we marketize health care, it will perform as well as the financial industry!

and I added the link to Contingencies http://www.contingencies.org/septoct08/mccain.pdf

Millions of Americans don't have healthcare and now he wants to run it like a financial market, that it already is like. No one is going to have healthcare. Screw him. Screw them all.

The only way, as a struggling student, who can't get a job in this economy is by getting medicare. By even elminating that, I'm screwed and this is why this man would basically look to eliminate the future productive people of this country. I hate this guy.

3. Yes this really needs to be made into an ad.
"John McCain wants our healthcare system to be run like our nation's private financial systems. The same financial systems that failed and required a massive federal bailout."
