Home Invader Dies In Struggle With Father Of Intended Victim
http://www.theindychannel.com/news/17576601/detail.html

A man who police said broke into a home with the intention of sexually assault a 17-year-old girl in her bedroom died early Saturday morning after a struggle with the girl's father.

David Meyers, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after officers arrived following a report of a home invasion in the 3500 block of West 79th Street at about 3:20 a.m.

Officers said they found Robert McNally, 64, on the floor with his arm around the neck of Meyers, struggling to hold him down.

When officers told McNally he could let go, they found that Meyers was unresponsive. Medics who were called to the scene then pronounced Meyers dead.

Indianapolis police Sgt. Matt Mount said Meyers had come into the home naked, except for a mask and latex gloves.

"He had rope, had (a) knife, had condoms, had a gag," Mount said.

Police said Meyers had gotten into the home through a window next to the girl's bedroom and that he knew the home well because his uncle owns it and he was an acquaintance of the family.

2. Whoa!!!
Can't say I would have handled the situation differently. I have a teenage daughter and could easily kill another human being who intended to do her harm. I can guarantee you that!

4. Another dead rapist.
No loss.

If this had been my house the rapist would have been staring down the barrel of a gun. Ironically he probably would have lived, either by running away or by kissing carpet until the cops showed up.

5. I hope they check the story out
If it's true as reported than bravo--but I hope they check out whether the 17 year old girl had let in her older sugar daddy and then things went horribly wrong.

6. Read the story.
The intruder had a previous record for sex crimes. He was currently wanted by the law for not registering as a sex offender. And he was uglier than sin. I doubt the teenager was 'asking for it'.

12. I agree, I just assume they will do a full investigation
There were also people saying Elizabeth Smart wanted to run off with the crazy ugly lunatic who kidnapped her. Thankfully they were able to do enough investigation to find that wasn't the case.

I was also thinking of the murder trial that just happened--a man caught his wife and her lover in the act of having sex. The woman pretended that the man was raping her and the husband killed the man--thinking he was protecting his wife. Later when it was found out the wife was having an affair with the man SHE was charged with his death because she tricked the husband into killing him.

11. That's true. The masks and gags are usually kept in the secret bondage dungeon INSIDE the house. n/t

15. Yes, indeed. We should always hold the hope that women are to blame when they're raped.
Just lovely. :puke:

14. Two words: justifiable homicide
Good for the father! He defended his daughter and I hope to God he's not charged with murder.

17. According to American laws, he was within his right to go "jonny" on his ass
And it was clear it was not his intent to kill the intruder, but hold him for police.
The death was accidental, but justified and legal as it was that man's home.

19. You're absolutely right
The dad of the intended victim WAS trying to stop the intruder from attacking his daughter. If he killed him, it was an unintended consequence. Dad was not only legally justified in using force to defend another, he was also morally justified, according to (authentic) Christian teachings. No crime, no sin, no nothing.
