Obama Victory? Thank Dean
http://www.wcax.com/Global/story.asp?S=9276564&nav=menu183_2

If Barack Obama wins some traditionally Republican states on election day, Howard Dean could deserve some credit.

As Chair of the Democratic Party, Dean started a "50 State Strategy" two years ago. It put Democratic workers on the ground in every state to boost voter registration. Dean's plan was controversial, but analysts say it's paying off now for Obama; he could win states like Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Virginia.

"Howard Dean was criticized by some Democrats for running a 50-state strategy and not concentrating on traditional Democratic states, but the Democrats picked up support in many of the intermountain west states in 2006, and Obama is building on that," said political scientist, Eric Davis.

There is speculation that if Obama wins, he might offer Dean a job in his administration, possibly having to do with health care policy in the Health and Human Services Department.

11. Yeah....he would make a great Attorney General. Does the position of AG
require a law degree? I want to see him work on healthcare too.

3. Dean was right and the Clintonistas were wrong
Dean, both his Prez campaign and DNC chairmanship, paved the way for Obama. I too hope that Dean is rewarded with a cabinet position in an Obama Administration. Dr. Dean most likely would favor Health and Human Services position and be a facilitator of Obama's health plan.

I think this is going to be the story Around The Nation: Howard Dean!!!!!

Well, of course... and BARACK OBAMA!

Dr. Dean should be proud -- all the work, up and down the ticket, may help Dems take the lead in the next four years and turn this country around, heading in a positive direction!

7. Absolutely!
Sen Obama touched on this point in the speech he gave earlier in Nevada. He said it's time to stop the divisive strategy of red states vs blue state and unify the United States.

Howard Dean deserves a lot of credit and I gladly do that as often as I can.

12. Yes!...Love the Dean Man
I remember when the Dems won the Congress back in '06, it seemed that Schumer and Emmanuel took all the credit -- Here's hoping he finally gets his due!

13. Howard Dean is the man who, in 2003, made me believe
in my country again.

I was still reeling from the Dems' capitulation on the IWR and Paul Wellstone's tragic death.

Yes, I admit to being a "recovering Deaniac." And I am proud of it.

15. Howard Dean
has taken almost as much crap over the months and years as Barack. Through it all, he has shown grace, toughness and uncanny smarts. We owe him a lot and are lucky to have him in ANY capacity.
