When he's not surrounded by Neocons, he's actually a personable guy. I honestly think the RNC ran his campaign into the ground intentionally because McCain "isn't one of them". So they gave him a completely incompetent VP candidate and then sandbagged his campaign.
I can't underscore enough the importance of democrats to vote, even in strong red states. GOP incumbents have to be voted out and democratic ones voted in. Even if Obama as no chance in Oklahoma for example (my state), your local candidates need you badly!

It's the most alert I've seen him - if this McCain had showed up at the debates, maybe things would be different.
