GOP Pulling Out Stops In Georgia Senate Runoff, Sending In McCain (TPM) |
|
... Meanwhile, the DSCC is circulating this old quote from McCain himself, condemning Chambliss for the nasty attack ads he ran in 2002 against Dem Sen. Max Cleland: "I'd never seen anything like that ad. Putting pictures of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden next to the picture of a man who left three limbs on the battlefield -- it's worse than disgraceful. It's reprehensible" ... http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/11/gop_pulling_out_stops_in_georg.php

2. You don't think it will be effective to try to counter McCain's support of Chambliss by |
|
showing McCain denouncing Chambliss for dishonest negative campaigning?

5. Don't underestimate how moranic Georgia GOP voters are, |
|
They will believe almost any propaganda that is spewed their way. There is virtually no liberal or progressive media in the state. They are innundated with GOP propaganda from RW hate radio, their fundy churches, the NRA and conservative business groups among others.
I live in the blue island of Athens in the midst of the red sea that is Georgia. We are surrounded by GOP fundies, wingnuts, NRA fanatics, unreconstructed Dixiecrats and outright racists. These (white) folks will beleieve anything because they do not seek facts, the truth or objective opinions.

4. The GOP morans will deny that McCain ever stood up for Max Cleland |
|

who was viciously attacked by chickenhawk piece of shit Saxby Chambliss. :grr:
Of course, McCain will also forget that he stood up for a fellow veteran.

8. Another contributing factor is the Diebold machines |
|
GA is a one vendor DRE state and their choice of paperless evoting systems is Diebold/Premiere. They were in use for the first time when Max Cleland lost his race. I have no confidence in the results of the race that year whatsoever.

11. I am a Georgian and I believe that that election was stolen via Diebold and the software "patch". |

Gov. Roy Barnes (D) and Sen. Max Cleland (D) were WAY ahead in all of the polls and then they lost. It makes no statistical sense at all.

6. I have relatives in northern Georgia. |
|
I thank God that my father and two of his brothers fled the place and went north and got an education. Our family visited a few times because of funerals and a couple of weddings. Sadly, the majority of them are nothing more than ignorant racists. When they are referring to Blacks, it is n****ger, this n***ger that as they swill down the beer. Most of them are unemployed and on welfare while the Blacks at least scrap out a living. They are really honest to God worthless hillbillies. Several have been in jail half their lives. They gave up making and running moonshine for growing and coking dope.

7. The Atlanta area should be progressive by now, and the blacks |
|
should get out and back Martin. Also Georgia was a state that was not anti-Obama; he should get down there and help Martin too.

to get himself elected.
This, after promoting his military credentials ad nauseum. Barf.

12. Remember this McSame quote? |
|
"I'd never seen anything like that ad," McCain said at the time of the spot, which was widely condemned by Democrats. Putting pictures of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden next to the picture of a man who left three limbs on the battlefield is "worse than disgraceful," said McCain. "It's reprehensible.”
