The 800 Pound Right Wing Christian Gorilla is Changing? |
|
A look at the major web sites of the Right Wing Christians shows something odd — almost no strident comments about the election results. The Mormons are trying to calm a backlash from gays and lebians are angry at them for bankrolling Proposition 8. I’m warning we should watch these guys carefully, taking nothing for face value. http://allspinzone.com/wp/2008/11/14/the-800-pound-right-wing-christian-gorilla-is-changing/

Damn right they are worried. I think people are finally feed up with them. I wouldn't be surprised that some of these churches lose their tax exemption.

2. I suppose you are right |

But we cannot trust here. I'm not particularly in favor of taking away the tax exemption, because that'll make these people martyrs, and that's not good.

5. better a broke martyr than the what we have now. |
|
We need to get them starved and broke. Don't fear the backlash. Fear the fact that we let them stand there like a murderer with a gun in their hands . We need to disarm them.

3. They shouldn't lose the exemption across the board |
|
They should only lose it when they get involved politically. Carrot & stick. If they want to give blankets to the poor-no taxes. If they want to get politically involved, then they must pay. It would be their choice, and they could decide based on what is important to them. This way no one is telling them they can't be political, or that they must pay taxes. The outcome is of their choosing. No force.

Maybve one example or two, but it is important not to make Hagee or Dobson more important now as they lose their influence slowly.

What do we need now, some sort of governmental agency to decide who is and who isn't exempt? Who will do the choosing?
I don't care one whit about those who claim they are 'real scottsman.' (Google 'Real scottsman' if you don't know what I mean) From the outside looking in, christianity looks insane. And dangerous. Just ask a native american. If you can find one.
