“All My Rowdy Friends” Are Senators?
There is talk that Hank Williams, Jr., the man with the scraggly beard and sunglasses who plays to tens of thousands of drunken fans, may be a Republican candidate for Senate in Tennessee in a couple years. Williams would be challenging GOP incumbent Bob Corker. What next, Ted Nugent to run for Congress?

2. Just when you thought it was safe to be a Republican Again
OK, that echoes the ad campaign for Jaws II. Maybe not so funny, as nobody would think it is safe to be a Republican again.

3. Funny you should mention that about Nugent....
In May 2005, Nugent said he was "getting real close to deciding to run" for governor of Michigan. On August 4, 2005, CNN reported that Nugent had withdrawn from the race for 2006 but was keeping his options open for 2010. Nugent also was rumoured to be under consideration by the Illinois Republican Party as its candidate in that state's 2004 Senate race.<7><8> Ted and his family now live in Crawford, Texas, a small town west of Waco, Texas, which is also the location of President George W. Bush's ranch. He is a weekly contributor to the local newspaper, the Waco Tribune-Herald.<9> In July 2008, Nugent reiterated his desire, saying "I was serious when I threatened to run for office in the past if I cannot find a candidate who respects the U.S. Constitution and our sacred Bill of Rights."<10>

I also have a funny personal story about him:

During his heyday, his band performed before the group my friends and I had gone to see (might have been Cold Blood, but the memory is foggy). During the performance he went into one of those long painful guitar screechings. We were sitting on the floor about a row back from the stage. At the point when I thought my ears could stand no more, I yelled to my friend, "Why doesn't someone pull the f***ing plug!" Well at exactly that moment, the guitar ceased, so all you could hear in the ballroom was my plea. He glared down at my friend and I, and if looks could kill... Fortunately this was before his devotion to high powered weaponry...
We laughed so hard...he was such a jerk then, and remains true to form today.
