Five Richest Authors in the world
http://blogs.thetimes.co.za/bookcase/2008/11/26/the-5-richest-authors-in-the-world/

Forbes Magazine has released its list of the world’s highest paid authors. In a year when financial returns are a great source of consternation, some writers have still managed to rake in the cash. Top of the list is unsurprisingly J.K Rowling . . .

Second on the list is the ever productive James Patterson . . .

Third place goes to the king of horror Stephen King . . .

Fourth place belongs to Tom Clancy, . . .

And finally in fifth place is the queen of the romance novel Danielle Steel . . .

Nicholas Sparks, Janet Evanovich, John Grisham, Dean Koontz and Ken Follett round up the list for this year.

9. He's the king of video games
Read the original article, and check out this list:

Seriously - he's got more video games than John Madden.

21. One???
Which one??

Red Storm Rising?
Hunt For Red October?
Without Remorse?
Patriot Games?

He may have gotten repetitive with his series later, but his 80's work was fucking great!

Happy Thanksgiving

2. Stephen King
I sort of know King's wife Tabitha and they both are life long liberals who have done so much for the state of Maine that if they left there for good, the economy would collapse because of the amount of taxes they pay (gladly). I can't blame them for spending the winter in their beautiful mansion in Florida.

3. I'm glad Janet Evanovich made the list
although her latter novels have become more formulaic, Grandma Masur alone should make her a very rich woman.

I'm only surprised that none of them has been made into a movie. Her novels cry out for staging and they'd make a mint.

Another crazy woman in the same genre of crime novels that are so funny you drop the book is Tamar Meyers, author of the Den of Antiquity series and her Pennsylvania Dutch mysteries.

Both women were driven insane by early careers as romance writers.

18. Absolutely. The game my esposo and I play every time a new Stephanie book appears...
...is "Cast the film."

Queen Latifah pretty much rules as Lula. Grandma Mazur, we've suggested several but I think that ol' scenery-chewer Judi Dench might be interesting if she can do the accent.

Ranger? Antonio Banderas, no question. (My esposo leaves the Ranger and Morelli picks to me.)

We go back and forth on Steph herself, since Lucille Ball isn't available.

fantastically,
Bright

23. Oh, Drew Barrymore, hands down
She's got the range and comedic timing.

In fact, I'd prefer her to a younger Lucille Ball, who came off as a much smarter cookie than Stephanie Plum is.

Estelle Parsons (Roseanne's mom on "Roseanne") would be a great Grandma.

I don't think he has a new book in the works yet. I look forward to following Dave and Clete combat crime in their Nursing Home.

16. I think they'll head back to New Iberia on the Bayou
Dave and Clete had to go to Montana on a "vacation" to tie up some loose ends; kick some ass, get shot at; almost get burned to death, mundane stuff for those two. Maybe they have a couple more adventures in New Orleans left in them but those guys are getting old, even in fiction.

10. Just remember, while Hemingway, Faulkner & Steinbeck wrote. . .
the highest-paid author of the day was Edgar Rice Burroughs.
