Introducing the RedState Army Strike Force

by Brandon Friedman

Sun Jan 04, 2009 at 12:24:25 AM PST

Erick Erickson, the editor of RedState, has just given us fodder to use for the rest of the year. In an attempt at being politically savvy--and by telling himself that what they do is somehow akin to being a "soldier" in a "war"--Erickson has decided that conservatives need to field-organize like progressives. And what better way to motivate the "troops" for activism than by inventing your own unit crest which, of course, replicates those worn by actual combatants in real wars?

Brandon Friedman's diary :: ::
This is the unit insignia of the U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment:

1. This is scary.
I have been hearing rumors that fundie churches are starting to give para-military training to their youth groups for the coming battle of armegeddon.And now they are organising into military style units?
Very scary.
I have heard people here say bush can't declare martial law here because all of the military is overseas.What they are forgetting is Blackwater.The shadow goverment could contract with them and all they would have to do is start calling the fundie churches and Viola! instant mecenary army of totally brainwashed defenders of the faith.

2. Erick Erickson is monumentally dumb

He managed to forget that his co-blogger was hired by the Washington Post (before being sacked for plagiarism), which destroys his whole argument. With the patches for his 'Strike Force', he sounds like a not-very-bright 10 year old.
