To double staff in India to 40,000 by 2010

* Will increase proportion of outsourcing from 38 pct now

* No acquisition plan in H1 2009, Satyam not on radar (Recasts, adds detail, quotes)

By Janaki Krishnan

MUMBAI, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Capgemini (CAPP.PA) aims to double its staff in India to 40,000 by 2010, a senior company official said on Wednesday, as the largest European computer consultancy battles the global economic crisis.

Luc-Francois Salvador, an executive board member of Capgemini group, told reporters on the sidelines of an industry conference in Mumbai the company plans to increase its proportion of outsourcing from 38 percent now.

"There will be a strong increase in outsourcing in 2009, depending on the opportunities available," he said.

Salvador said Capgemini, which had 88,000 staff globally, had frozen hiring in some parts of Europe but would be expanding in India.

"We will further increase our size in India," he said. "India is still a strong economy with a lot of growth opportunities."

1. There needs to be a heavy tax on those assholes who exports jobs

and still gets US $$$ for jobs and contracts..

AND give tax breaks and incentives to companies who hire AMERICANS.. like NOW.

Caterpillar made the right step forward. I hope the other companies follow their example.

These taxes would make logical sense for greedy assholes who wants to make profits, but we're going to FORCE them to make their profits with Americans, not with foreigners who gets paid so little, it's RIDICULOUS to have to pay the high prices for it.

2. They aren't a US company - though they do have offices in the
US.

From their website:

"Capgemini is headquartered in Paris, France and operates in more than 36 countries."

I appreciate your sentiment about it, though!
