Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition |
|
In Arkansas they are getting ready to pass a bill, and the Governor says he will sign it, that will allow parishioners to carry concealed weapons in church. What will the whack jobs think of next? http://allspinzone.com/wp/2009/02/12/praise-the-lord-and-pass-the-ammunition/

How often is this occuring right now, without it being a big deal? I know of several people who CC every Sunday morning, and one that does on Saturday night.

3. Hey, if your church is fine with it |
|
Then I'm going to let you go right ahead. I personally think there are places where guns should not be found.

8. I respect that opinion. |
|
I have disarmed on more than one occasion when the owners/management of an establishment I was going into, or the residents of a home I was visiting, were not comfortable with a firearm on the premises. Private property rights still count.
Also, from the article, it isn't overruling the ability of a church to say "No Firearms Allowed".
"The bill’s sponsor, Rep. Beverly Pyle, R-Cedarville, said she introduced the measure after a series of church shootings across the country. She said it would be up to each individual church whether to allow the concealed guns."
A simple sign on the door and you're right back where you started.

19. I think a lot of DUers would be very disappointed.... |
|
..in a visit to my state, but then, when I was five years old, I was very disappointed when we flew into Fairbanks, Alaska, stepped off the plane, and didn't see igloos, and dogsleds for as far as the eye could see. Lived in Nome for three years, 57' 58' 59', and while there were plenty of dogsleds, I never did get to see an igloo. Thanks. quickesst

As long as the don't allow ammo, there won't be a problem.

23. Umm... remember that church shooting last year? |
|
I don't know that we need to look for a supernatural agent to see why people might want to carry a gun in church.
Or what about someone's abusive, well-armed ex-spouse?

5. Oh geez, I can see it now... |
|
some doofus goes into a church and threatens the congregation
He's standing in the aisle
people pull out their weapons and shoot the guy
in the process, they end up shooting bunches of people on the opposite side, killing the entire congregation.
It could happen...

20. There must be some stipulation about |
|
the churches having the right to ban guns. The story mentions that some states have similar laws that allow churches to decide if they want to let worshipers carry a concealed weapons, but it doesn't explain how they do it.

Most of the time all a church or other establishment has to do is post a "No Firearms" sign in a visible location.
