Lawmakers used the data to blast Republican leaders for not reauthorizing a program that provides at least 13 more weeks of unemployment checks to jobless workers whose 26 weeks of state benefits are expiring.
Already about 46,700 workers in the area have exhausted their benefits, and 83,100 are expected to lose them in the first six months of this year, the report says.
