1. Chancellor Merkel isn't nearly as happy as I am. Great slideshow.

They all really seem to genuinely like the guy.

3. I just feel great that we can hold our heads up on the world stage again.
Contrary to the constant bashing here at DU, I'm convinced we made the right decision.

4. Me too!
President Obama has been in office six months and has accomplished more than Bush did in 8 years. While I'm disappointed that it is taking so long for Congress to write a bill to repeal DADT and I am worried about the indefinite incarceration of prisoners from Guantanamo Bay, I think he's right on schedule with accomplishing change. It will take time to turn the economy around and that is and should be the number one issue right now. While the right and some on the left are criticizing Obama for being out of the country when the economy is bad, he is working with other nations' leaders to address the economy. We don't live in a vacuum. He's doing the right thing.

6. I can't imagine criticising pres. for being out of the country
re: economy! Do they think he and his family spend so much at home that we need them here for THAT? How foolish! Do people REALLY not understand the role of heads of state???

7. I haven't ignored the negative, I'm just not focused on it.
I'm trying to see the larger picture and I think people are honing in on one single issue that they care a lot about unless they're freepers and in that case they throw whatever trash they can and hope it sticks.

They act like the approval rating is like the formula to cure smallpox, it's so important. I disagree with that too.

And what's with all the negative ads by the GOP?
