Health Care Is Making You Sick For Profit

Is the money in your retirement account making you sicker? Health insurance companies work just like any other corporation. They have investors and management that run the company to maximize profits for the investors. That's all. Companies are not in business to look out for all their customers, only the ones who are profitable and only on terms that make a profit.

Large companies with enough profit use some of those profits to lobby government to create rules that enhance their profit and cut their losses. Wall Street keeps a thumb on the scales and severely punishes companies that don't make the best profits. Sounds okay so far if you like that kind of thing.

But there are things companies don't do very well. One of those things is protecting people's health or even providing health care. Another thing they don't do well is running government and managing broad and common public interests. Corporations don't do well in the not for profit sector of our lives. Corporations have a dismall record over the last 50-60 in making health care available and reasonably priced in this country - especially when compared to every other major free world nation on the planet.

The dangerously sad thing is that they want not only to keep it that way, they plan to make it even worse for the exact same reasons and with the exact same methods as the tobacco cartels used on us for decades by killing people and soothing stockholder's with big profits. They will use the money in your retirement account to invest in their business and control your opinion so that you continue to think that everything is just peachy. It's not and everyone needs to be repulsed by by the devastation and cost they have brought on us all.

Unless you enjoy having Wall Street between you and your doctor, we need to tell Wall Street and the health insurance company investors to take their money and go somewhere else - you know, like maybe put it in rocket-science companies or into medical research for real cures or how about car companies that know how to build the cars we want, anything but continuing to work against our own self protection. You need to call your fund manager and or stock broker because telling your congressman will do nothing until you move your money to where your mouth is.

1. Does the same apply for non-profit healthcare institutions?
